Bodonked again.....Vegas in two days!!!!

I haven't been playing well lately. I was distracted Monday night while playing M.A.T.H. and watching MNF and I called all in with a really bad hand. I did this once before and said never again in a tournament situation...I called anyway. I actually won the hand but it was more than improbable. I shouldn't watch the Patriots or the Red Sox while playing against good players.....I was embarrassed by the play. I'm going to have to learn from my mistakes the first time around and never make that mistake again...that's what makes a good player. Learn from your mistakes....once is enough let alone twice.

Moving on.....The best call I ever made was going to Las Vegas on Friday! My itinerary is as follows :

I got Bodonked out of the Bodonkey! I was chipping up nicely when my Kings were raised....I re-raised...was re-raised...and went all in. I was called by J's.....and a J on the turn knocked me out...that sucks. I hope my Aces and Kings hold up when I play some live poker again. I haven't played in a live setting for a while. Looking forward to the WPBT Winter Classic! Looks like there are already over 120 players. This should be memorable. I have never met anybody in the WPBT....but I will call on Friday and meet some people anyway....I don't care. I'll be in Vegas with cash and a place to stay so.....I'm ready to rip it up. I still can't believe how cool of a wife I have...I am a lucky man. Not only did she agree I should go...she made the travel plans for me! That my friends is fantastic. There are quite a few people who still can't believe that I'm going to Vegas by myself to meet people that I've never met before. They look at me with this (head-tilted-to side-I'm-so-confused-look) look and say something like "what are you crazy or something"! I mean I'm not expecting anything...I'm just gonna go with it. Whenever I go to Foxwoods with friends I usually disappear to the Poker Room anyway. I'm used to seeking out a poker game by myself whether it was the charity tourneys that I frequented, the Foxwoods Poker room, or the awesome bar league in Haverhill, MA. I'm gonna miss that place now that I moved from Lawrence to Wakefield. No more Thursday night NL tournament! None of my friends know about my blog...I mean....none of my good friends play poker! It's really hard to get a game going unless we play the mindless home games. Don't get me wrong...a good game of 'Screw your neighbor' is fun....but to play a tourney and maybe some mixed games against good players is not a common thing. Even some of the charity poker rooms are a complete crap shoot. I will be playing the 'Mookie' on Wednesday night...but not RiverChasers on Thursday..I need to get up around 4:00AM on Friday!

OK so I didn't destroy the Dookie......but I won. I had to out-flop one very large-stacked Lucko....so it wasn't easy. I had a nice comeback win after being the short-stack at the final table. I love Pot Limit Omaha HiLo.....love it! It is such a tough game but gets the gamble out of us....especially the Turbo format. My secret for PLO HiLo is fold your K's unless you can limp in.....or unless there is more than two people involved in the pot. I had K's somewhere around 6 times and folded 'em every single time. Don't leave home with an ace in hand. Simple. I played terrible in the Mookie as usual....what else is new. I started the BBT pretty badly.....I went on a heater and cashed in all different tourneys. I Made the points in all different tourneys. I forgot the devastating suckout I took at the last Big Game....that sucked....or else I could have cashed for a shitload. Last night I just made bad calls...plain and simple. I hope to finish out the BBT with a bang or two. Cashing in the Big Game would go far for me as my progress as a blonkey-donkey. Anybody else think that it would be a good idea to maybe include the WPBT into the BBT format next fall or something? It seems a shame to let the WPBT go down in flames.
I think I'm going to be doing a lot of Real Estate sales and purchases soon so......I may have to slow down on the online poker. My family and I are going to be moving somewhere closer to Boston soon. We have our eye on this nice house in Wakefield, MA. We'll see what happens...I'm not sure how fast I can sell my beloved Mountain condo. or house in Lawrence. I want to know what it is like to take my time commuting to work. I'm sick of wasting so much time in the damn car...sick of it! I might actually have some extra time on my hands for once.
Tonight I might play the old bar league tourney that is so much fun. I've made a ton of money over the tourneys that i've played at 'Slickey's'. I come in and piss everybody off because they are vying for points in a league. I've been called 'wild card' or asshole a couple of times (really people...i've been called worse...so save it) because of my play there. It.Works.For.ME!!!!

Well as you can see a whopping 4....that's right 4! players showed up to the sadly dwindling participation of the WPBT. Whilst people are putting in some time at the tables of the WSOP I am busy doing close to nothing. If I can salvage a win then it is better than nothing. The players who showed up were Bdidde AKA Biggestron....AKA B.....AKA Byron, Schaubs AKA...well Schaubs, Kameelah AKA Derek, and myself. I caught some hands at the right time. Including a devastating set of 9's to Bdidde's 10's. The last hand was my pocket 10's holding up against Kameelah's K-Qo(Teh Anna Kournikova).

I used to dread Wednesdays....but not since the 'Mookie' came to fruition! Get in there and get some BBT point/cash goodness!

My buddy was properly devastated at the bachelor party last weekend......we played golf(I'm finally getting better)....drank a thousand beers.....played poker(or some form of homegame poker).....drank a thousand beers.......watched the RedSox destroy the Yankees......drank a thousand beers.......went to a strip club in Providence RI.....that allowed us to bring in and drink a thousand beers (true).......and enjoyed the sights and the lap dances.....and then drank a thousand beers (limo driver was nice enough to pull over on the highway a shitload of times so we could risk our lives to piss.

Back to reality and a tough work week from hell this week. I'm selling my condo in the white mountains (crying) and will eventually sell my house in order to get us out of this town I live in. I might be house hunting all summer. So much for Vegas/WSOP this year. I hope all of you guys and girls that make it out there have fun and cash in the biggest poker tourneys in history. I really would like to meet and hang out with some of the people who have made my boring job bearable. Destroying workplace productivity INDEED!!!!

Progress

I played the WPBT Stud 7 event on Sunday. I was at my condo in the white mountains of N.H. (one which will be on the R.E. market soon....I have owned it since 2004....or should I say it has owned me since 2004......it has prevented me from building a real poker bankroll....that much is sure). Much to my chagrin there were only 13 players....I saw 14 but somebody pussied out and un-registered. Better chance to cash....so what the hell. I was at a cookout with the family and other condo owners from 5:00 to 8:30...many beers and grilled foods consumed....I was buzzed and ready at 9:00PM. I ended up in second place for a nice little 96.00 or so cash. A long seesaw heads-up battle with StatikKling sobered me up pretty fast. I had (haven't looked at the hand history (9's and 8's I think...also an ace in the hole....I paired that on 6th street I believe) 3 pair when all streets were dealt...but I was pot-committed. I though Statik had 10's and K's but I think he filled his boat on 6th or 7th street. Oh well, my first WPBT cash this year....and maybe my last if this thing doesn't start getting more entries. I also had another deep cashless run in the BBT tourneys...more specifically last nights M.A.T.H. I went out 11th.....I had 10x-Jx on a flop of 6x-9d-Qd....and I pushed with the short stack. I was called by somebody with a flush draw.....Numbono maybe? He had 7d-8d...I can't remember. My straight filled...but it was the Kd and I was toast. Had to take the chance on that....but my 8th out killed me. I think I've been playing pretty well lately but no cash to show for it.

Sunday : The Blogger Big Game Results : Me taking a brutal suck out by Julius Goat. Ac-Kc everybody folds....I raise all in with my short stack......he insta-calls with A-9o......Ace on the flop and I am looking good to cash in my first Big Game....9 on the effin turn and I am toast. Damn you Goat.......Damn you. (I checked his blog and he is funny bastard....but he should name himself Julius Donkey instead....HAHA).

Monday : M.A.T.H. : I didn't get many hands....two pocket pair before the final table. I hit two big hands in suck out style.....an open ended straight against Garthmeister and a gut-wrenching gut shot straight on the river against IT. I made the final table but an all-in fest with Schaubs Q-Q and Otis A-Ko did me in...I had As-10s and the short stack. There were two aces on the flop but I am toast again. Still haven't recovered from the Suck out by Julius Donkey....err Goat.

Tuesday : WWdN : Made final table though a whopping 20 entries...out 5th when I pushed (A-2o) the small stack into A-Ko....out 5th. 3 paid.

There is also a tourney on the WPBT.....does anybody remember that? It would be nice to get more than 17 or 19 that was in the last tourney. cmon.....lets get this to be a destination you Donkeys!!
