Why did I create this Blog....I have no idea. It seemed like a good thing to do at the time. Although I suspect it may be my addiction to Poker....Online Poker and everything else to do with Poker. I got into card games a long time ago by learning from my Grandfather...RIP gramps...miss ya. He taught me to play Seven-Card Stud and draw poker games when I was a little tyke. There was also this game called
45's which is extremely popular in the Merrimack Valley of MA and NH. Not sure why but I haven't played that one in a while. I'll have to relearn the rules soon. I guess this is a good way to write anything really. Anyway I like to Blog about anything....especially Party Poker. It took me a while to get up to speed when I started playing last year but it is addictive. The fish are really swimming on the weekend. I think most of the online pro's are picking everybody off Mon-Thurs. but Fri-Sun. is open season...shooting fish in a barrel and all those other cliches. This is sort of an open forum for Poker and all other bad habits listed on the title......Anybody have any thoughts about online Poker? I recently started playing in live tourney's also. I played at a local Elks club a couple of months ago...It was NL 100 buy-in with an option to rebuy twice for 50....I had to rebuy once and was going pretty well throughout the tourney. There was 80 players...I placed in 11th but the payouts started at 8th place...bummer...but not bad for a person who was nervous about there first live tourney. The funny thing was that the field was about even split 40 people over 40 years old and 40 people under 40 including me. Everybody under 40 seems to be suffering from "Moneymaker-itis"....you know the type...hat...sunglasses..."all-in" every chance they get....hilarious.....I called with A-Ko when one of the "Moneymaker's" went all in with a 8h-Jh....were both about to be blinded out so I figured what the hell. Although an observant player called both of us with pocket 7's and won. Oh well....both of us were at about even 4,000 in chips and the blinds were 2,000-4000 at that point anyway. I guess I was nervous during the tourney but it did make it a little easier due to the fact I went to Foxwood's and played on a 2-4 limit hold'em table. It sort of gave me a taste of what live play is all about. Live play is so much different than online play. I am playing in a 200 person 125 buy-in NL tourney on Jan. 28th....I'll tell you how I did....
