Review

This is a review :

LockPoker

I started playing some tourneys and some cash games at LockPoker last week. This particular online poker room has serious potential to become one of the biggest or most popular poker sites. The main reason is that it contains all the features and all the nuances of the most popular poker sites. The first thing I noticed was a similar interface to Party Poker but not as cartoon-like. You can change your avatar and pick from a variety of characters also. There are some cool sound effects that you can also add or subtract. Another great feature is the ability to see what your cards were even when you fold. I like that feature a lot. I play at a few different sites fairly often. One thing I didn't like about all the other sites were the different features that would vary so much from one site to another. LockPoker seems to have incorporated just about all of them....plus others. There is one tourney called the 'Kamikaze'. It's basically what we call a 'pushfest'. In other words you put in 3 bucks or whatever the buy-in is and sit back and watch the damage. You don't even have to do anything to win cash. Every hand goes all in. There are the largest variety of Rebuy and add-on tournaments also. No matter what your limit for buyin is....LockPoker has it. There are certain tourneys I love because of the starting chip amounts....buyin amounts....structure.....LockPoker has all of them. I'm pretty sure they did a survey of what online poker players love most and why. Then they implemented all of those features on their site. As you probably know by now LockPoker is open to United States online poker players. They added a lot of the features that i've missed so much from the no-longer-U.S.-friendly sites also. Like I said a similar interface to Party Poker and another feature that reminds me of winning a big pot on Paradise Poker. Just writing about it makes me like LockPoker even more.
The only feature that LockPoker doesn't have as of yet are Multi-Table Tourneys for all of the Poker variants. They have added Omaha tourneys into the mix so I'm sure that there will be more of a variety added in the future. I'm sure they are willing to add any tournament game or feature that their players want. They also have another feature that isn't very common to some of the bigger poker sites.....customer service. Imagine that....they respond to emails when you send them! Try doing that to a certain poker site and you would be considered lucky to get a response in two weeks! LockPoker has customer service 24-7. So for an enjoyable poker experience and a poker site that will surely grow faster than any other....download LockPoker today!

Sorry P.E.T.A. .......there will be blood

This species (good gravy how ugly) must be eliminated from the gene pool in order for the donkey race to survive in the blogosphere. I claim bounty on Thursday the 20th at 9:05 on Bodog.

Edit :
I made good on my elimination of the mutated Donkey species!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I got the bounty on some hand that actually had 5 people involved. I crippled Waffles on the previous hand and he had me covered by about 120 chips. The next hand I had A-Kd though...and a K on the flop sealed his fate! BOOOM!

Anyway I lost heads up to MiamiDon and came in second place...story of my life. GG Don. I'm a lame fuck who can't find his way to Vegas in December...but GG me anyway. F'n kid came back from 330 chips to take it down. We've had some epic battles already in the Bodonkey but the three player battle with myself, MiamiDon, and NewinNov was ridiculous. On a Semi-serious note.....Waffles has been kicking some blogger ass for the past year or so...kudos......

I claim BOUNTY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 109TD$ plus 86.40$ plus 75more TD$ not bad......oh....and I got the day off from fucking work tomorrow....Double Boom!

Bubble-itis is infecting my game again.....

Good grief. The last four tournaments (Bodonkey, Novemeber9 special on Bodog, Put a bad beat on kidney failure on FTP, and the Mookie) have been bubblicious for me. Schaubs made two final tables (PaBBoKF and Mookie on FTP) while getting some trim. We should all be so lucky. I also bubbled the final table for the P.a.B.B.o.K.F tourney which featured none other than Andy Bloch and a few other professionals (golf, drinking........I don't care if i'm a pussy for loving Bud Light!....I'd like to have a Bud Light I.V. if I could! I'm a shameless Bud Light addict and I admit that freely!......, being my nemesis). I got yelled at by the eventual winner of runner-up. with 15 left I had a short stack and a pair of 8's under the gun. I pushed and was typing 8 fast and furiously in the chat box....I flopped the 8 and had a mini celebration. The guy told me I was classless (how did he know me so well?). I had a few drinks but it wasn't like I berated him for a bad play or anything. I guess he was insulted by my play...sort of like Wawfuls in the Mookie. So anyway, playing in the P.a.B.B.o.K.F. (Poker and Miscellaneous Stuff: Pay it forward) for a good cause and trying to knock out FTP pros was all in good fun. Andy Bloch was the one of four FTP Pros that showed up (Jen Harmon, Mr. Jen Harmon, some chick named MandyB didn't show)....albeit a little late with only half of the starting stack of T1500. He went on to put a clinic on NLHE stack building right away. Of course he is going to get more respect and well he should....but he was in first with a stack of 25K in an hour and a half. I was moved before I could take a shot a knocking him out.....heh.
My consolation about the Bubble-itis is that it has happened before and will probably happen again. The last time it did happen I made a couple of adjustments and proceeded to go on hot streak. Of course the hot streak was never on FTP.....except for maybe in the BBT3. I'll probably go back to re-read the sections in the FTP tournament book with Andy Bloch and Chris Ferguson. In other news...unless I DO go on an incredible hot steak or cash a large win I probably will NOT be in Vegas at teh December blogger wpbt gathering that I enjoyed so much last year.......BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO........

HPT live fun

I went to the HPT live event on Saturday with Biggestron. He's got me verbally committed to going to Vegas in Dec. but I also had about 12 micro-brews (note to self : when getting out of the house...do not drink micro-brews as if they were Bud Lights...it makes for a rough next day) in me at the time. I don't know if I can go....but I want to. I mean leaving a wife at home with the 3.5 year old and a 6 mo. old alone is not cool. Wait a minute.....the wife left me with said 3.5 year and 5 mo. old back in Oct. for a nice little NYC getaway....hmmmmmmm. So I get to the HPT live event and there are about 20 runners for 4o points apeice. The good host AKA (ittolm on FTP) had a nice setup for a small tournament. Top five get paid errrr get points. There were a mix of bloggers : myself, RakeFeeder, WWonka69, Biggestron, a bunch of other solid players, and other assorted women and a bunch of bald guys with shaved heads (don't ask). Odds were bloggers 4:1, women 6:1, and bald guys with shaved heads 3:1 (don't get offended guys...my daughters will destroy what's left of my hair so I may shave my own head within the next 2 years). This is the second HPT live event i've been able to get to so I was happy just to get out of the house for a while.

Hilarious moment of the night :

bald shaved head guy sitting next me (also known as Meltdown on FTP) "Billy (WWonka69)......if you were a freakin' superhero....your superpower (pauses for a couple of seconds).....your superpower would be....AGITATION"!
Billy (WWonka69) "what are you talking about"?
Everybody else in the room (you really had to be there) : LOL for 10 minutes......

I got into a huge pot with WWonka69 and another bald shaved head guy (Steve maybe?.......sorry...I'm bad at remembering real names after consuming large amount of micro-brew). I had 10d-Kd....I raised 3XBB and WWonka69 called. Shaved-head guy called. The flop was 10x-Xx-Qx? (I don't know) There was a bet a raise and a call. A 10x fell on 4th street. At this point I remember being scared of the straight and or the full house. A 9x fell on the river and I bet 500. Two calls. WWonka69 had 10-Jo, Shaved head guy had his Aces cracked, and I had trip 10's with a King kicker. I think I got the basic hand right.

I made the final table and was short stack soon thereafter. After a couple of people got knocked out I started to push....not with terrible hands but it was enough to get me to the money....errrr...the points. Of course I've been there twice and Biggestron placed 2nd both times (always the bridesmaid B). Bald shaved head guy won while I was folding on the cash game table. Since I haven't been out for more than a couple of hours in the last 5-6 months I went a little overboard on those micro-brews. I must remember next time....do not drink Blue Moons and Sam Adams brown like Bud Lights. It makes for a wicked hangovah!

Pay it forward

This guy has a request :

**Hello everyone. I'm not a big member of the blogging community, but I'm
here to ask you all for some help. A friend of mine is struggling to make
ends meet while fighting kidney disease. He is unable to work, and his
disability and medical coverage only cover so much. If you could all help
me out in advertising on your blogs, to your friends, etc, it would mean a
lot to me. This is a great community for helping people, so I am sure we
will continue that tradition.

You can help out this Wednesday, Nov 12th. Here's the details:

Full Tilt
Tournament #67971755
$10+$10
Bad Beat on Kidney Failure
PW: CailtyssRulien

Help someone out and maybe make some cash. I hope to see you there!

Post, spam, and register ASAP. Andy Bloch knows the person as well and
worked with FT to get the extra rake donated to help offset his medical
bills. Thanks for your help!

Leper Messiah elect

I was on my way to work today. I was listening to the B.M.A(cd)E. Best Metal Album Ever this morning. 'Master of Puppets' for those that don't know...it's not up for debate either. 'Leper Messiah' came on and after listening to the lyrics....I was thinking that Life imitates Art......this time around anyway. The president elect has become the 'Messiah'...the 'Chosen One'....the man who will save our souls from the evil in the world. 'Make a contribution and you'll get a better seat'....indeed. Gimme a fucking break. Nobody can trace large amounts of the 600 million in contributions to the Obama campaign...it's just all too much to not have an account of. The lyrics of the song can be transferred or related to anybody who acquires the kind of power that the Leper Messiah elect is about to have. Metallica obviously wrote the song after some of the 80's controversial Televangelists that eventually fell from grace. I've accepted what has come to pass. If people want what we deal with every year in Massachusetts then they will find out. One party system with no check and balance...Absolute Power corrupts Absolutely. Sure....this all sounds a little like a Cult of personality....and mass (heh...no pun intended) hysteria type stuff. I can't make this stuff up...I mean if the media wants a guy to be elected they will do everything and anything to get that guy elected. For those who used to rely on the news to get an unbiased report of actual news...well....you're out of luck. I've become really disenchanted with the media and all the talking heads. It seems like you have to seek out the truth and then research if it is in fact the truth. Journalism has died another death this year. The following lyrics are brought to you by Metallica....enjoy!

Spineless from the start, sucked into the part
Circus comes to town, you play the lead clown
Please, please
Spreading his disease, living by his story
Knees, knees
Falling to your knees, suffer for hid glory
You will

Time for lust, time for lie
Time to kiss your life goodbye
Send me money, send me green
Heaven you will meet
Make a contribution
And you’ll get a better seat
Bow leper messiah

Marvel at his trick, need your Sunday fix
Blind devotion came, rotting your brain
Chain, chain
Join the endless chain, taken by his glamour
Fame, fame. Infection is the game, stinking drunk with power
We see
Time for lust, time for lie
Time to kiss your life goodbye
Send me money, send me green
Heaven you will meet
Make a contribution
And you’ll get a better seat
Bow leper messiah

Witchery, weakening
Sees the sleep are gathering
Set the trap,
hypnotize now you follow

Time for lust, time for lie
Time to kiss your life goodbye
Send me money, send me green
Heaven you will meet
Make a contribution
And you’ll get a better seat
Bow leper messiah

Lie

Win In A Mac Poker Room

To win in Mac poker rooms, you'll have to consider all the options you have for play.
You can win at high stakes, low stakes; you can win at a free table.
You can win playing Omaha Hi/Lo, 7 Card Stud or the world's most popular poker game,
No Limit Texas Hold 'em. And there is no doubt as to why it is the world's most
popular game. As a matter of fact, there are many poker players who only
associate the word poker with that very game. So, as a Mac poker player,
how do you want to win, and what do you want to win?

Bottom line, whether you're playing for free or for $15/20 bets, you
need skill to tackle you opponents and turn their stack structure into
something resembling a parking lot. Good poker is good poker, so whether
you are playing in a brick and mortar card room, your best friend's
converted garage or online; developing a quality game is how you will
win. One great place to tap for tips and excellent poker strategy is
PokerJunkie.com. Use the site as the invaluable resource it can be for
you; you'll save so much time and improve your play without it costing
you big at a table. The site also offers you a great overview of first
time sign up poker bonuses.

PokerJunkie.com also offers a nice list of Mac sites to choose from.
Whether you're looking to get into the best online tournament action, or
looking for soft competition to get into a winning rhythm; with your
solid play, you can find exactly what you're looking for. Take advantage
of specialty sites such as this if you're looking to spend more quality
time at the tables.

Winning comes with a price, and you are going to have to suffer some
losses to pay for it. Nobody, including the world's greatest athletes,
won everything from the get go. Whether they started early and lost to
their parents, or played for terrible teams and persevered to reach the
top of their game, they had to transform their talent into skill and
eventually into a fine craft. Poker is the same way. If you want to win
in a Mac poker room, or at the World Series of Poker, you need to play,
play, play; and challenge yourself with solid competition. This will
make you not only the best Mac player you can be, but a solid poker
player, period.

Consider Phil Ivey, who you can find in any World Poker Tour main event.
He wanted to be a great poker player from an early age, and once he hit his teen years,
he played poker everyday and forced himself into bigger seas of
competition; not only was he satisfied to win against his local buddies,
but he could win anywhere he chose to play. And that's what you want to
be, a winner; period. Then, winning in a Mac poker room will be as
instinctual as blinking your eyes! Now get out and grab some action. And
remember how good it feels when you scoop the pot. That's why you play!
