Pile it on
I understand everybody being upset about me chopping with cmitch. My reasons for chopping last night have nothing to do with poker. I don't need to explain....but FAMILY>POKER. Of course I want to beat cmitch......of course I want to win 2 M.A.T.H.s in a month....of course I want to make a last ditch effort at the April seat. I happened to have more important things to worry about at the time.......and for the record...I've never chopped a tourney before and probably won't again.

F the Haters!!! You just added some +EV karma points to your tally. I wouldn't give it a 2nd thought.
Here is the lowdown. I understand everybody's disdain for the outcome but I didn't have time to negotiate the chop OR play out the end of the tourney. I fell asleep at the PC right before the final table. My daughter woke up screaming with the 'night terrors'. I played hard at the final table to get it over with but my 'Hugely' pregnant wife was trying to console my daughter...she was also giving me the 'Look'. You know the death look. When a kid gets the night terrors it is like a child posessed...scary but not harmful. So it must have looked ridiculous when I fought back to a 2-1 chip deficit from 8-1 or 9-1 deficit only to quickly accept a chop. I don't condone chops in the BBT but I had no choice at the time. This has never happened while I was playing a tournament in the BBT before but it has happened during another 4 hour tournament in the past. The really weird thing about 'night terrors' is that it's triggered by everyday things in children. In my daughters case...chocolate! Someone at the daycare gave her chocolate during the day. This is just one of the weird things about children. As far as me falling asleep at the PC...happened many times before. The BBT is tough to keep up with when working and child rearing. If you want more good karma then transferring first place prize money would earn a whole lotta karma for you too :)
Ha ha - reading this brought back memories of getting down to the final table in a big tournament, only to have my wife give me "the look" when the painter arived to give an estimate on painting the house.
My strategy -- try to double up with ATC, and if successful, return to the tournament when the painter left. I busted out instead, leaving some people wondering why a guy who was playing so freaking tight suddenly threw all his chips away on a donkey play. At least I was able to stay married ...
Since so much chopping is going on, the game seems to have changed. I guess that I would consider it now.
I gave up my best chance at a WSOP blogger seat 2 years ago because my son wouldn't sleep and had a hugely pregenant wife.
Nothing wrong with chopping there.
