Foxwoods-Poker not so good but...

Mini Baccarat was great. So great in fact...I'll probably never play blackjack again. I just bet the 'player'...of the 3 bets (tie, banker, player) you can bet in mini bac...and I basically ran 500 into nearly 1200 in two separate sessions.

I played an 80 turbo at 9 PM...an hour after reg. started. That didnt last long. Then got felted in the poker room playing 1-2 NL. Every hand I had was second best...plus some dude pushed all in with A high on a rag flop..I called with Q's and he hit his ace on the turn. That one hurt...it was a pot of 90. I also lost 200 on slots!
After 2 sessions of mini baccarat I left up about 400 so.....

Turbos are pretty much a crap shoot. Sorry to hear it didn't go better.

What exactly is this mini bacarat that you speak of because i'm too lazy to look it up.
I've heard it's a boring game and thus have avoided it always

MM...it is my usual routine to run over there after me and my wife eat and have a few drinks. The turbo was the only tourney I can play lately (past two years due to family, time constraints). We had 24 hours do I couldn't get over there the next morning being at the MGM grand etc. I usually cover my Losses with 1-2 NL...but the pOker room was abs. Miserable. Fights...people bitching etc... I get sick of that real fast.
Grouchee it's easier than black jack....and just as exciting....I'm not sure YET the difference of Baccarat and mini baccarat...but some Asian guy dropped a buy in of 5 g's...without blinking next to me... Well he didn't drop the 5 g's he quickly ran it up to 7500 in 1 hour...if that ain't excitement then what is?

So do you pay a commission on your wins in mini baccarat like you do in regular baccarat? If so, do you pay it right when you win like in pai gow or do they keep a running total and you pay it when you cash out?

JT I was betting on the banker at fist and paying the commission every 30 minutes or so. Then some guy sat down and asked "why don't you just bet the player?" I said I had no idea but you don't have to pay commission on the player...so I stuck with that bet every time and varied my bet amounts. It seemed to work well....also worked the next day...never played mini bac or regular baccarat but it's worth exploring when I'm not playing poker. Maybe that's why Ben Lamb is a pro baccarat player....it's the easiest game with the least house edge.
Just a guess...

I loved playing mini baccarat on a trip to Las Vegas many moons ago. Trying to find a game in the casino is often difficult. It is just the kind of game to play when you want to have a few drinks and shoot the shit with someone due to the low casino edge.

Was never a big fan of foxwood, but last time I played there I actually had a great time. I definitely would recommend it to anyone looking to play poker.
