Over the past 5 days I've busted out of the following with Pocket A's....PP MTT NLHE 20.00+2.00 20k guaranteed...my Pocket Rockets get busted by Pocket K's on the flop (set)...PP Shootout 5.00+1.00 when the table chip leader calls with A-Ko and rivers a straight A-high....PP 30 max Sit'N'Go NL 5.00+1.00 on the bubble (knocked out 6th..top five paid) when a guy calls my pocket A's with pocket K's and flops a set....PP NL 250 Freeroll (these are made for this sort of thing) A-Ko calls my A's and gets his third king on the river...PP NL25 HE table 10 players when a guy bets out 2.00 and one other player calls ahead of me I send my 21.00 all-in (he has 23.00) he thinks about 10 seconds and then calls my 21.00 all-in with pocket 9's..he then proceeds to river a fucking full house 9's full of Queens!!! Then on UB in two hands on a NL 3000 Guar Turbo MTT I go all-in with pocket A's and some guy (who annoyingly enough is typing words to old Bruce Springsteen songs in the chat box as if to serenade everybody) calls with J's and gets his set on the river...knocks me down to 2000 chips from 5000 chips. The following hand I have Pocket A's again!! I go all-in and while typing in the words from 'Born to Run' calls with A-4d and then rivers a fucking wheel straight to knock me out...This sequence of tourney's has me on tilt for the whole weekend and I proceed waste my bankroll (aleady small due to my monthly allotment of bills) to a pittance...
I swear it seems like every time I was busted out from the PP tourneys or tables I had Ace of spades and Ace of clubs...the two black aces on Party Poker were certain death for me over the weekend like some sort of karmic fucking bitchslap!!! I check into my stats on Poker Tracker and confirm my run of futility...All-In with the 'Best of it' indeed...

Concert recap Part II
Actually this is a recap of the pre-concert tailgaiting and drinking....we were lucky enough to have a truckload of hot chicks tripping on mushrooms in front of us in the parking lot. This made for great entertainment as well as good eye candy. I swear there was about 10 of them in a Chevy suburban...they kept running past us as we were sitting in our comfortable lounge chairs. I remember when we used to bring the grill and cook all sorts of food and hang out the whole day but now it's hard get more than one or two friends to go to a concert these days. Anyway, the hot chicks on shrooms next to us must have been about 20-22 years old...that was my guess. We didn't actually talk to them ( man I feel old at a concert now and I'm 34) because they were preoccupied with giddiness. I was thinking it would be good to be twenty again....anyway there was one really hot blond chick that started to kind of freak out. There is always one in the bunch!...she was on a cell phone talking to somebody and started to roll around on the hood of the Chevy Suburban...she seemed to be talking to her boyfriend or someone who was scolding her. Her friends noticed this and they were trying to console her.....pretty soon she was lying on the parking lot on the cell phone and visibly upset. It was actually hilarious to watch.....
This kind of reminded me of the time I went to a Greatful Dead show at Foxboro stadium in 1990! My friend and I had a head full o' shrooms and he started to freak out...after a couple of hours I started to get hungry and decided to grab some pizza...I offered to buy my buddy a piece and he thought that people were trying to poison him! I was like 'just calm down and listen to the music...nobody wants to hurt you man' ....but I digress....as we walked into the Allman Bros. show after drinking an 18-pack the hot but freaked out blond chick was still lying on the pavement with her friends surrounding her and she was still on her cell phone!! I walked by and gave them the 'Thumbs up' ....they just kind of looked at me and were like 'what the hell are we going to do!' I just thought back to the days when I was their age and in a similar situation and sort of muttered 'don't try to buy her any pizza!!!'

Allman Bros. concert....
I had an awesome time at the Tweeter Center for the Allman Bros. concert. I got stupid drunk as my friend was relegated to driving and staying relatively sober. I got the tickets on the Ticketmaster website and was hesitant at first but they had some good tickets for sale. The tickets were in the last row of the first section...I think they were row HH or something. I printed them out and they scanned the piece of paper as a ticket...that was kind of wierd. the concert was about a third of the way over when the lady next to us asked if we wanted to trade tickets with their friends...I said "what are the back on the lawn of something?" she says..."there in row z about 15 rows in front of us! Not only were the about 26 rows back from the stage but they were closer to middle..incredible upgrades for nothing!! I have to say that Derek Trucks is probably the best slide guitarist I've ever seen live....this is quite a change from when we saw a young and timid 20 year-old a few years ago. He literally takes the show over with his incredible slide guitar. Duane Allman would probably be surprised...........I also traded the ticket with my buddy for a RedSox ticket this Friday....the barter system has never been so good to me. On another note a friend of mine got a book from the library called "BANG your HEAD..the Rise and Fall of Heavy Metal" by David Konow. I know this is not exactly a thought provoking book or anything like that but it has some truly fascinating stories about all things heavy metal from the late 60's to it's present day form.
Lately i've been building my online bankroll through playing $25NL tables on Party Poker and when I went from $50.00 to $200.00 I figured I would try a few MTT's again. I tried the $22.00 buy-in 20k guaranteed and ran into a few bad-beats ie double gutshot straight draw and a set over set...the other players had short stacks so I did survive those but...I got knocked out with A-Ko by some guy with pocket A's...I also tried multi-tabling for the first time and it's not easy with a laptop and 15' screen. I only had two tables going but with a baby that's lightly sleeping in the same room (I have my wireless laptop/router setup in the living room so I can catch some sport scores etc.) it's precarious at best! Anyway I've destroyed my productivity for the day by blogging here and I must sign out......

Poker Tracker and some sites like UB....
I really do love Poker Tracker now...the more I use it the more I get out of it. The problem is with sites like UB and Paradise Poker...they don't have the auto-tourney hand history like the Party and affiliated sites. I manually enter the tournies/results but it's a real pain the ass. You also cannot get the stats of the players you play against in the tournies. They do have a component for hand histories but only for ring games. I need a better way to do this because I usually do better on UB tournies than any other site. I'm not sure why but the NL Turbo 1,000 and 2,000 Guaranteed tournies have been pretty good to me lately. That means that I'm not getting the stats I need when I play the same Players every night in these tournies. There has got to be another way.....on another subject i'm going to see the Allman Bros. this weekend coming up and I get to crash at my buddies who by-the-way is driving! Party Time! We'll have to tailgate first for the half-decent tickets that I got. The wife and kid will be safe at home and I'll be rippin it up at the Tweeter Center. I do need a weekend away from the online poker...last weekend I ended up drinking something like a thousand beers and playing way too long into the early morning hours.....

My favorite time of year....
This doesn't have anything to do with Poker but this is probably my favorite time of year....summer is ending...football is starting...hockey is going to start soon...and the Red Sox are gearing up for the playoffs..see my annual Allman Bros. concert at the Tweeter center in Mansfield....now for something poker related...
I think I'll take a few days off at the end of the summer... and go to Foxwoods to try to qualify for the World Poker Finals.
This is all of course probably a pipe dream this year because I have a 3-month old at home!!! I can relate to the guy who writes this blog
He has some real funny stuff on there that has now become my life...I do however still play on PartyPoker and UltimateBet..more so than the other sites. One Kid...Two mortgages...one car payment..and now an equity loan...I'll have to slog it out on the NL25 tables on Party to build the bankroll again...I'm currently still playing on the same 50.00 I deposited back in June so I must be doing something right....

Playing Poker while drunk
I have to stop doing this.......I was golfing and drinking on Saturday and I was blasted. I got home and the wife and kid were sleeping so of course I fired up the PC and jumped onto UltimateBet and PartyPoker. I did OK on the PP NL25 tables but then I decided to go to UB and play a rebuy-NL tourney...I'm not sure I remember the whole tourney but I checked my account the next day and I was down about 30.00...which isn't a lot but I must rebought and added on 10 times!!! That has to stop.........
