300
...and then there were 300.....that is the number of posts on this verbal dumping ground! I wish I had some kind of story to tie in with the 300th post and my weird fascination with Mediterranean based myths...but I don't. I've been playing a ton on PStars lately and have been doing quite well. I think I'll miss the Silver VIP status though. I think I need another 300 points of something by the time the 31st is done. The baby and the 3+ year old have been taking all of my time....I mean....where the F has the summer gone? It's almost August and it doesn't even feel like I've been out of the house. My vacation week isn't until the 3rd week of August...at least we are staying at a local beachhouse. Local being Salisbury beach.....I'm looking forward to that. Although I get the antsy for some poker while there and there is no phone line on my side of the cottage. I guess I'll have to break down and buy one of those Verizon wireless cards. Last year I was like a sick poker junkie running around the cottage desperately trying to keep a wireless connection for more than a half hour.
On Monday night I went a little off kilter and bought into some tourneys that I've never bought directly into before. The 100+9 and a bunch of those 30+3 NLHE tourneys. I got taken to school.....stayed up all night....and have nothing to show for it. I do however want to jump back on to Full Tilt for some Donk-tacular action. This is probably not good for my bankroll as I've never won anything on Full Tilt except a Bloggerment. Well I'm a glutton for punishment and the ultimate Donk-fest...the Mookie and probably the Dookie tonight! I'll leave the juicy (fast) no-limit tables and low limit NLHE tourneys for some silly Full Tilt suckouts. This is usually the other way around for most bloggers but PokerStars>Full Tilt for me. Speaking of 300...anyone want to swap 300 from my Stars account with 300 from their Full Tilt account??? Actually don't answer that just yet I'm gonna ask another local first!
Forgot about this ...DUH!!!!!!

PokerIntensity.com
I found a great website for poker and gambling strategy. PokerIntensity.com is that website. It combines everything a poker player or gambler needs to enter the online versions of their favorite game.
There are several areas of interest for both the new online poker player as well as the experienced online poker player. For the new player there are sections on what websites are 'blacklisted' to stay away from...and what websites are 'safe'. This is very handy for Americans as well as Europeans. There is also a section on PokerInstensity.com that is full of information about the different ways to fund the account. This is very important for the player who decides to play for ‘real’ money instead of the ‘play’ money the following deposit methods are available. We all know how important that is after the UIGEA was passed in '06. In addition there are sections on general poker terms, Online Poker Tips, and a Poker Calculator (Not just for NLHE by the way). For the experienced player there are plenty of strategy articles even a Poker News section to stay informed about the world of poker. PokerIntensity.com is also available in 6 different languages including English.
If you are interested in getting into the shark infested world of online poker you should inform yourself with Intense Poker knowledge and strategy first.
PokerIntensity.com is great looking website full of information. Isn't that what we all needed when we decided to jump into the online poker waters?

My 'BAD MOVE' post
I wasn't able to do anything with my Sunday major buy-ins that I won into via satellite. I crashed in the Bodog 100k...just by being card dead. I had my share of hands in the 'biggest Sunday Million prize pool ever' tournament. I just played a couple of hands badly...it took 2 hands in a row....and I was out. I ran my decent hands into really good hands. Such as life.
I did however final table the nightly 10 short-handed NLHE at 11:30PM Eastern. I finished third for 600.00 (It's been my best tourney by far as I made 3 final tables in 3 or 4 months and my biggest score for 2,250.00 back in late March). I have no idea why i've been killing the NLHE short-handed format....I really can't pinpoint it.......Here is the icing on this posts cake and my ultimate demise :
POKERSTARS GAME #18783129102: TOURNAMENT #94924196, $10+$1 HOLD'EM NO LIMIT - LEVEL XXI (4000/8000) - 2008/07/13 - 04:53:09 (ET)
Table '94924196 1' 6-max Seat #6 is the button
Seat 1: mikey23861 (558924 in chips)
Seat 3: DoubleDave (101752 in chips)
Seat 6: deez1233 (317324 in chips)
mikey23861: posts the ante 800
DoubleDave: posts the ante 800
deez1233: posts the ante 800
mikey23861: posts small blind 4000
DoubleDave: posts big blind 8000
*** HOLE CARDS ***
Dealt to DoubleDave [Jc Th]
deez1233: raises 16000 to 24000
mikey23861: folds
DoubleDave: raises 76952 to 100952 and is all-in
deez1233: calls 76952
*** FLOP *** [3d Ah Qc]
*** TURN *** [3d Ah Qc] [4c]
*** RIVER *** [3d Ah Qc 4c] [3s]
*** SHOW DOWN ***
DoubleDave: shows [Jc Th] (a pair of Threes)
deez1233: shows [8c Ks] (a pair of Threes - Ace+King kicker)
deez1233 collected 208304 from pot
*** SUMMARY ***
Total pot 208304 | Rake 0
Board [3d Ah Qc 4c 3s]
Seat 1: mikey23861 (small blind) folded before Flop
Seat 3: DoubleDave (big blind) showed [Jc Th] and lost with a pair of Threes
Seat 6: deez1233 (button) showed [8c Ks] and won (208304) with a pair of Threes
So I got called when I was the shorty trying to steal (3-handed)....but was this a good call??? Probably....but I'm just not sure.......

Baby tilt etc.
Wow....can't believe it's been over a month already since my daughter was born. I continue to Donk off my bankroll. I'm not playing bad....you know.....but there isn't much else to do. Working is tedious as usual but when the wife and daughters are sleeping there isn't much else to do. The main problem is my gambling degeneracy....when the baby wakes up and wants to eat.....she wants to eat!!! I can be seen juggling the baby and the baby bottle while keeping one hand on the mouse. I don't care if it makes me look like a gambling degenerate. My kids are very healthy so it's all good. I'm usually bored with just T.V. or a baseball game anyway. You can only watch so much T.V. Hopefully this tourney slump will subside...soon! (It's not going to subside if retarded douchebags keep calling my Aces and Kings with 5-7s and 5-7o and flopping straight flushes and full houses......PRE-FLOP!!!!!!!!!) Those (fast) NLHE tables on Stars are still a great thing...that's what I'm going to have to stick to if I don't want to go busto again. I have a WSOP Step 5 ticket that I need to turn into a Step 6 ticket soon. That would be worth a cool 2100.00 buy-in to the WCOOP in Sept. I'm pretty much tapped out on Full Tilt...I cashed out most of the winnings just after the BBT3. That coincided with the baby arriving. I'll probably play RiverChasers tonight though.
I can't believe that a dwarf is going to win the WSOP! Not only is he 4 feet tall....he is a chipmonger!I met the blogfather last winter at the WPBT winter classic. I must say that he is one of the coolest dudes on the planet.
GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO IGGY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
This still has me laughing my ass off!

Steppin' up
I had an extra 'step2' ticket on PokerStars from the night before last. I forgot about it until last night. The WSOP step satellites ended at 12:00AM last night. I won a step 5 at about 12:30. I sent an email before I went to bed. I figured it was just one of things where you win and your ticket is useless because the promotion had run its course. Then today I got this email :
Hello Dave,
Thank you for your email.
Please rest assured that no one will lose value they have earned in a
PokerStars tournament; that's simply not how we do business.
As the WSOP Steps have now finished, leftover steps tickets can be used to
enter WCOOP Step Sit and Go's. These can be found under the "Events"
> "WCOOP". These step tournaments will commence at 12:00 ET.
Best of luck in the games and thank you for choosing PokerStars.
Regards,
Nicole

Sweet!.......I knew I loved PokerStars for a reason. The Steps tournament page for the upcoming (Sept.) WCOOP is up and running.
Step 5 is worth a 700.00 buy-in to get the coveted step 6 (worth 2,100.00). I think I'll be a little nervous for that one. There should be some tight play right? Probably not....
Good luck to everybody playing the Main Event....I hope you run deep and someday I hope to be able to go! It would have been a stretch for me to try going this year...but my family knows it would be to much of an opportunity to pass up. You can't really be realistic about going to the WSOP when your child is born on June 3rd. I don't blame PokerFool for keeping the cash. 98% of the players in the BBT3 have day jobs and can't take that much time off. I certainly can't afford to this year. Next year is a different story though. I will go all upside those Steps tourneys...until I win. Download and play on PokerStars today.
